The Role

As an Operations Specialist for Cabotage and Domestic Trucking at Den Hartogh Logistics, you will be at the forefront of our daily operations, ensuring smooth logistics processes, exceptional customer service, and effective collaboration with suppliers. You possess a solid background in logistics and shipping, paired with excellent customer service skills. With your experience in the service industry, you are adept at assessing situations, offering solutions, identifying opportunities, and taking immediate action.


Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations: Manage and coordinate cabotage and domestic trucking operations, ensuring timely and efficient transport services.

Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing queries, handling complaints, and maintaining positive relationships.

Supplier Relations: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure service quality, negotiating terms, and managing performance to meet customer expectations.

Process Management: Oversee the processing of customer orders in our Transport Management System (Transfusion) and related platforms, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Documentation: Ensure all necessary documentation is prepared and submitted accurately, including Bills of Lading, invoicing, and other transport-related documents.

Compliance Knowledge: Possess a thorough understanding of local Transport Management Systems (TMS), Conhecimento de Transporte Eletrônico (CTe), and ANTT rules to ensure all operations comply with regulatory requirements.

Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Financial Oversight: Monitor and analyze operational costs, suggesting and executing improvements to optimize profitability.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align operations with customer needs, facilitating effective communication and coordination.

About You:


Experience: You have a proven track record in logistics and shipping, with specific experience in cabotage and domestic trucking, including working with TMS.

Technical Knowledge: You are well-versed in local TMS, CTe, and ANTT regulations, ensuring compliance and efficient operations.

Customer Focused: You excel in customer service, with the ability to manage relationships, resolve issues, and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.

Proactive: You are quick to identify opportunities for improvement and take action to implement changes.

Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment, working well with colleagues across different functions to achieve common goals.

Detail-Oriented: You are meticulous in managing processes and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.


Job requirements

Successful candidates will have strong organizational skills, be an excellent communicator and eager to understand all aspects of our business. As the main point of contact for your customers, you will provide excellent customer service and have the desire to build relationships internally and externally. Furthermore, you will have:

• strong sense of urgency and loves to get things done.

• ability to self-organize your daily routine and priorities.

• ability to find creative solutions for new situations.

• (desired) shipping logistics experience in an office-based environment, ideally as user of tank operators, freight forwarder or shipping line, English fluency.

• happy working in a customer-facing role, via video conference and phone calls.

• an outstanding sense of responsibility, with a pro-active and structured approach to customer centricity.

• attention to detail, good logical skills and the ability to work well under pressure, and being able to adapt quickly to market changes - internally and externally, with a willingness to respond rapidly and flexibly to customer demands.

• the desire to build relationships internally and externally.

• willingness to undertake training and development activities.

• good MS Excel skills.

ABOUT YOU



  • Bachelor degree in administration, foreign commerce, international trade, logistics, or related areas.
  • Knowledge of Intermodal logistics, CTe, Trucking and Cabotage coordination.
  • Experience with TMS logistics, Customer Service / Account management, experience in export, freight forwarding, shipping, containers, isotanks.
  • Great problem solving skills with a positive and can-do mentality.
  • Accurate and good planning & organising skills.
  • Decisive and ability to adapt to ever-changing scenarios.
  • Sound analytical skills and understanding of cost drivers.
  • Proactive and a strong drive to constantly improve and achieve results.
  • Team player who is also able to work independently.
  • Strong drive for personal development; high level of learning agility and flexibility.
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese (Spanish is a plus).
